第9回 Gothic and Lolita Market 開催レポート

2023.10.19 15:32

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, the 9th Gothic and Lolita Market was held at WITH HARAJUKU HALL!

This event is an exhibition and sales event & coordinate snap event for all genres of Lolita-style brands. It is one of the largest events in Japan held twice a year in spring and autumn!

・Entrance Waiting

This time, only advance tickets were available for the first session, and both advance and same-day tickets were available for the second and third sessions.

Advance tickets for the first and second sessions sold out!

The total number of visitors was an incredible "1,136 people"!

Many guests dressed beautifully lined up before the venue opened, creating a very glamorous scene that already excited everyone.

Many guests came from distant places, and we are full of surprise and gratitude.

Although it rained at times during the last event, the weather was good all day this time, and many guests took commemorative photos in front of the venue.

Also, the cloakroom service, which was popular last time, was implemented again this time.

At the Gothic Lolita Market, you find your hands full of bags before you realize it...!

We hope this made the event a little more comfortable for everyone.

・Sales Booths

The main area of this event is the sales area!

The charm is that you can talk directly with the owners and creators of each brand.

Thankfully, the number of applications to exhibit has increased every time the event is held, and this time the selection rate was about 2.5 times...!

Unfortunately, there is no larger venue than this in Harajuku, but many unique brands lined up tightly.

Many brands made their first appearance at Gothic and Lolita Market this time, so everyone probably had many new encounters.

Gothic, nostalgic, classical, sweet Lolita, prince... etc.

Items ranged from accessories to clothing, tableware, watches, and miscellaneous goods.

Everything was so wonderful that many people stopped at every booth and ran out of time...!

If you still want to see more, many entered again for the next sessions, so the venue was lively from the first to the third session.

Below are some of the brands that exhibited at the sales booths.

THE END LAND

They create art pieces under the concept of "small philosophy that fits in the palm of your hand."

The artist also makes ball-jointed dolls, so the human body parts are delicate and beautiful...

Vanityjam booth

A brand of dolls with irresistibly gothic-style rabbits.

They even come with a cute coffin-shaped box...!

Each has its own personality, so please compare them!

preer booth

A wonderful miscellaneous goods shop with items like medicine notebook cases, pouches, pass cases, and bags that you want to carry daily.

The prints inspired by antique books are original!

Romy's lovely ME time booth

Lovely and break-resistant, heart-throbbing tableware...♡

All these dishes with ribbon and lace patterns are handmade!

Black Cat and 3 PM booth

A brand recommended for classical style lovers, with sweets motifs that are not too sweet.

The calm colors make it easy to coordinate, and the headbands combining sweets, lace, and ribbons were popular and sold out on the day.

Henriette booth

Classical style Japanese-Western fabric flowers handling various types of flowers.

The beautiful dyeing and careful craftsmanship are worth seeing in person.

Black Alchemy Society booth

Items modeled after various animal skeleton specimens are wonderful.

The artist's own mysterious attire, as if from another world, is also very impressive, so please check it out on X (Twitter) and other platforms!

Epetice booth

A select shop that partners with overseas Lolita brands and sells them in Japan.

Many designs rarely seen in Japan, and the products on the site change quickly, so keep an eye on it!

Sakauchi Ruyamato's Room booth

A brand popular for nostalgic style.

They mainly produce clothing and headdresses.

This year, they also taught a headdress-making workshop at GLM.

PrivateSquare. booth

A classical fashion brand mainly producing hats and corset dresses.

The long skirt that spreads firmly made from the same fabric as the corset is also attractive.

Atelier BOZ booth

A brand with a refined silhouette.

Currently, there are few opportunities to see their products in Tokyo, so many visitors came just to see Atelier BOZ.

・Consignment Sales Booth

▲Consignment sales booth scene

At the consignment booth operated by GLM since the last event, GLM sells works on behalf of creators who live far away or are busy.

Many brands that are rarely available to see in person attract great interest!

▲Consignment clothing corner

You can look at products more leisurely than at the sales booths, so many people tried on items, compared with other items they were considering, and took their time deciding.

Below are some of the brands that exhibited at the sales booths.

LayLahLux booth

They handle lifestyle goods that beautifully dye not only clothes but also life in gothic style.

We admire the spirit of making even spray cans beautiful...!

caramel dorops booth

A brand popular for apple necklaces.

The motifs are large, so they stand out even on glamorous clothing days!

This time, pumpkin necklaces were very popular due to the Halloween season!

Morpho booth

They have many items that are a bit hard and eye-catching, such as leather-like headdresses, large bags full of frills, and leopard print ribbons that tighten the coordination.

The clothing style is very fashionable, adding a modern touch to the classic 2000s style.

Witch's Recipe booth

An accessory brand with many items that tickle the heart, such as sugar cubes that look real and butterfly pea teapot necklaces that change color with temperature.

The simple designs are popular because they are easy to incorporate even with light outfits.

vailey vail booth

A shop of artificial spirit rabbits.

The fluffy rabbits with wings on their backs are cute...!

Small dolls and headdresses with dolls were popular.

Also, a limited-time online shopping site listing the handled products was opened again this time!

Many customers seemed to have checked the products before the event and came with their favorites in mind.

From the day after the event for one week, we received orders daily from both domestic and overseas,

and we were filled with happiness from the enthusiasm of everyone even after the event ended.

・Coordinate Snap Photography Booth

Beyond the sales booths, there was the "Coordinate Snap Booth"!

At this booth, a professional photographer takes photos of visitors' coordinates and gives the photos as gifts.

Also, the Twitter snap account (@GLMsnap01) introduces two coordinates per day.

(Posts will be made daily at 1 PM and 8 PM from October 21.)

At GLM9, this was conducted by complete reservation.

Thanks to everyone, it was very popular and sold out!

Next time, we will increase the number of shooting slots,

so please join even if you couldn't participate this time.

We look forward to seeing your wonderful coordinates!

↓Please enjoy the wonderful coordinates of everyone who participated in the GLM coordinate snap this time!

From this time, video shooting inside the venue was allowed with prior approval.

Some active SNS users have created wonderful videos, so we would like to introduce a few!

The fun atmosphere is conveyed here too♪

The wonderful introduction of works will surely make you want them too!

GLM in San Francisco @URSA MAJOR 2023

The collaboration between the EGL & J-FASHION event "URSA MAJOR," held annually in San Francisco, California, USA, and GLM has been decided!

San Francisco is said to have the most Lolitas in North America, and the Facebook group where Lolitas in this area interact has 1,400 participants.

This time, we will help display wonderful works from Japanese brands in such a region. Moreover, we will rent a separate room inside the hotel venue for GLM, making it a special setup!

*Exhibitor applications are now closed

Once again, we had over 1,000 visitors this time, and we realized there are still many friends who love the same fashion.

Even about two weeks after the event, recalling the day makes our hearts warm.

We sincerely thank the brands that exhibited, the visitors who came to the venue, those who enjoyed shopping online, and everyone who supported us.

All the staff look forward to your next visit from the bottom of our hearts.
